Before there was Chayz Lounge the listening room, there was Chayz Lounge, the radio station.

Spoken jazz artist and author Chaye Alexander is the visionary behind Chayz Lounge, shaping its atmosphere through sound, intention, and refined detail. Rooted in her Sophisti-Soul philosophy, Curated Moments. Soulful Sounds. Elevated Experiences., she reimagines hospitality as a feeling rather than a service.

Born from her deep passion for music, the concept for Chayz Lounge Radio first sparked in Chaye in 2004, when internet radio was still finding its voice. She envisioned a virtual space where legendary grooves and fresh discoveries could coexist in harmony.
​
In 2009, that vision came to life with the launch of Chayz Lounge Radio, a 24/7 global streaming station blending smooth jazz with soulful sophistication. What began as a dream now resonates with listeners around the world.

As the station gained momentum, so did Chaye’s vision for a physical space that could embody its essence.
That vision came to life in 2017 with the opening of Chayz Lounge in The Vista, in downtown Columbia, South Carolina, before relocating in 2019 to its home at 607 Meeting Street in West Columbia’s River District.
Chayz Lounge Radio continues to extend the experience beyond its walls through a carefully curated blend of smooth jazz and soul, streaming 24/7.

More than a station, it is an extension of the Sophisti-Soul lifestyle, where music, mood, and intention come together to shape how we experience the everyday.
